Midnimo Women Network along with ministry of justice, organized days Remote South to South exchange for FGM scholars and legislators in Saudi Arabia and Egypt with ones in Puntland at MartiSoor hotel.

This discussion exchange Aims to foster dialogue, enhance understanding, promote strategies for addressing FGM/c through zero tolerance and narrowing the different ideologies of religious scholars, and finally to produce FATWA prohibiting FGMc, this platform for scholars from different regions to share their knowledge and experiences, and research on FGM/C (Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting). Such exchanges contribute to a greater understanding of the issue, promote collaboration, and identify potential solutions to combat FGM/C effectively. Towards connecting scholars from Egypt and Puntland allows for a cross-cultural and cross-regional dialogue, enabling participants to explore the specific challenges and approaches related to FGM/C within their respective contexts. The exchange of ideas, research findings, and best practices helps to generate innovative strategies and legalities to address FGM/C more comprehensively. It encouraging to see governmental involvement in organizing such events, as it demonstrates a commitment to addressing the issue of FGM/C at the legality level. By facilitating scholarly discussions, the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with WROs and WRAs is actively fostering a network of experts who can contribute to legal formulation and implementation aimed at stopping FGM/C. On the final, Day three scholars produced an agreed position paper. The main discussion areas provided a starting point for Islamic countries, Islamic religious scholars, and thoughts to engage in meaningful dialogue and develop strategies to combat FGM/c through a zero-tolerance implementation bill. By addressing these topics, RL will work towards the shared goal of ending FGM/c and ensuring the health, rights, and dignity of young girls and women.
