Midnimo Women Network is a prominent organization established in 2020, dedicated to advocating for the empowerment of women and children in Somalia. Our mission is to foster a democratic society where women, children, and men are equally valued. Currently, MIDNIMO represents 55 women-led organizations across Puntland and maintains operational offices in all nine regions of Puntland, with additional representatives in Nairobi, Finland, the UK, Sweden, and the USA.
Midnimo Women Network operates across all nine regions of Puntland, ensuring comprehensive outreach and support. Each regional office actively engages in local advocacy, educational initiatives, and empowerment programs tailored to the specific needs of the communities they serve. Our presence in these areas allows us to address the unique challenges faced by women and children in both urban and rural settings, fostering collaboration and community involvement in our mission.
To create an empowered society where all women and children in Somalia actively participate and have equal rights and opportunities.
To adopt a community-centered approach towards empowerment, transformation, resilience peace building process and support for vulnerable communities for sustainable development.
Our network is closely connected to the broader women’s movement across Somalia, uniting various organizations that represent diverse groups, including women with disabilities, rural communities, and internally displaced persons.
Midnimo Women Network focuses on six key thematic areas:
Championing the rights of women and girls to education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and equitable access to employment opportunities and resources.

Foster Peacebuilding Initiatives:
To actively involve women in peacekeeping, mediation, and conflict resolution processes, thereby contributing to sustainable peace in Somalia.
Environmental Improvement:
To enhance environmental conditions in both rural and urban areas of Somalia, promoting sustainability and resilience among communities.
